IMO NEW REGULATION for LIFTING APPLIANCES
At its 107th session, lMO's Maritime Safety Committee adopted amendments to SOLAS introducing a new regulation ll-1/3-13 on lifting appliances and anchor handling winches on board ships which will enter into force on 1 January 2026.

All lifting appliances and anchor handling winches, regardless of the installation date, and all loose gear utilized with any lifting appliances and anchor handling winches, are required to be operationally tested, thoroughly examined, inspected, operated, and maintained based on the Guidelines

MORDEC’s onsite inspection and testing team will visit your vessel and visually inspect all of your lifting, rigging and height safety gears.

MORDEC conducts Destructive Test and Annual Examination (Visual Inspection) on Wire Ropes. We conduct MPI Test on Material Handling Gears

All inspections conducted by MORDEC are followed up with a Certificate of Test and Thorough Examination endorsed by 3rd Party or a Certificate of Compliance

The Loose Gears and Cargo Gears will be tagged and labelled by the vessel to trace the appliance to the relevant certificate. Tagging will be provided by MORDEC.
